Letter to the President and Another Journal Entry

Nathaniel drew a picture for President and wrote a letter on the back of it. The picture is really good.It is of the first George Bush. He even put the famous quote: "Read my lips. No new taxes."

It is the letter that really cracked me up. Here is a copy of it:

Photobucket

If you are having trouble reading it:
Dear President Bush,
This is a picture of your father that I made for you. He was a great president and so are you. I hope you like it. You can show it to everyone you want to.I hope you have a great presidency.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Jacob Gilliland
of Alabama

PS The wrinkles are for detail, not to be mean.

I love the part about the wrinkles. That kid is funny. Speaking of funny kids, Benjamin wrote another journal about his nose and the sinus rinse.

Photobucket

He calls it "My nose, Chapter Two"
It feels good to do that sinus rinse thing. When your nose hurts, it makes it feel good as new. At first it feels weird. Then, it feels better.

I wish you see details better on here. He drew the bathroom sink, the soap, and even drew a stream of water coming out of his nose. If only he would put that much detail into cleaning his room.....

Wow! Your boys are amazing artists! It looks to me like you all are really enjoying your first year of home schooling.

On a side note, someday I would really love to meet your family. I asked Mark if we could vacation down in Alabama just so I could meet you and he liked the idea because he loves Alabama. :) If you all ever decide to come up to East TN, let me know and we can get together.

That would be great!! Our area is really a good one to vacation in. We live in a lake town so if you like camping, we got it covered. However, if you are more like me and think "roughing it" means having to use the hotel hair dryer because you forgot your own, we are very close to some cool stuff.

These are absolutely precious. As a mom of old kids now, I can tell you that this record of this drawing/letter will mean more than words could ever say someday.

I do wish that I would have made a copy of the letter to the president before we mailed it. At least I do have it saved to the computer so it can be printed off.
My oldest son has now decided that he wants to be a president after studying them. He even has decided that he should go to Harvard, since a larger number of presidents have graduated from there than anywhere else.
