Uh, how does hours of homework help, exactly????

This article was the Times Daily. It shocks me that they can find someone who is a parent who says that their kids have homework every night, sometimes That is all they have time for, and still say that it is a good thing. There is a principle in this article that I very much respect in this aspect. He says that kids need to be allowed to have time to be kids. Wow, if they all felt that maybe our school systems would not be in such sorry shape.

They did kind of go hand in hand didn't they?

Kelli,

I often tell parents that say they cannot homeschool that they are. Sometimes they spend longer with homework than we do school. But the nicest part is I have the answer key and I know what they are supposed to do because I assigned it. :)

Would you believe that some parents have called us recently to get homework help for their kids? It is awful when teachers send home a backpack full of homework and no instructions for the parents to know what to do. What makes it even worse is that schools do things differently, so even if a parent does know how to do something, they might not get cryptic instructions (if any instructions) that are sent.
