Strange Wedding

Well, the wedding took place last night. Plans were in place for a small, simple wedding. Thursday night Amanda called and said, "Let's do a Polar Express Wedding." I am not kidding.

Don't get me wrong, I think that the Polar Express is a sweet book. Samuel had a PolEx birthday party one year.

Cute idea for a three year old's birthday in July. I felt a little weird in pajamas for a WEDDING!!!

My first (hopefully last) wedding cake. My biggest comfort is that since I am not professionally trained it will not end up here

I hope that they have a wonderful marriage, despite their unusual beginning. All in all, we had a nice time, meeting my new brother in law's family, and spending an evening with family.

OK, I was laugh a bit until I saw your label for this post....that was HYSTERICAL!

People are just different. Actually, I think that my husband would have gone for a wedding like that. :-) Except the pj's part.Your cake looked beautiful!!

I really do think that a Christmas wedding could be beautiful. If we had not decided to get married in June I think I would have liked that. But in pajamas???
I was really down about the cake. I beat the icing too much so it had little air bubbles in it. Th topper was one that pushed down into the cake (I did not see the topper until time to put it on). The top tier was made in my Easy Bake pans. (not the oven just the pans) There were four thin layers. If the top had been one or two thick layers I think it would have held up, but it got smashed.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Chambers. I wish them a lifetime of joy and happiness! And although I couldn't see a closeup of the cake, I thought it looked great! Good work on putting together a wedding in just a few days.

Thanks, Valerie. It was definitely not something I would like to do again. (throwing a wedding together in just a few days)
I really do hop things are wonderful for them. They are getting a less than ideal start, but maybe that will just make them stronger.

Has Amanda decided what to mane the baby? I am still amazed that the little girl who used to call us "me Beffy" and "me Vally" is having a baby of her own!

Oh, I know it! It seems unreal that she should should have ever been old enough to START high school, much less have already graduated.
Her name is Anna Claire. The boys are now going to have two cousins named Anna Claire. Mark's cousin Mike has a daughter named that.

Delightfully unique! Lot less stress than the big formal kind, I'm sure.

It was enjoyable. We had a most unusual menu-spaghetti, pizza, salad, Rotel dip, roasted pecans and wedding cake.

I can't decide if this is really sad, or a little precious.
I'm leaning towards the sad side.

Okay, I'm toppling there.

I've missed you, my bloggy friend. It will not be until next Tuesday before I am back online. Meanwhile, I had to sit down at the computer while we are at the old house, for a blog fix.

It was sad. I know that a nice wedding is not as important as a good marriage, but what girl does not dream of a beautiful wedding? We had a good laugh about how when she was little she wanted to marry Mark, and now he was "marrying" her.

Missed you, too. Can't wait until you are back online filling us in on all the details of the big move.
