BIG news x2

Big news #1:Last night as I tucked in Benjamin he said he needed to whisper something in my ear. He had an expression on his face like he was trying to not to cry. I thought "Oh no, what has he done this time???" He whispered, "I think I need to be saved." Oh, my heart was about to burst!! I asked him a few questions to make sure he understood everything. (he did) We talked for a little while and I was very impressed to hear his answers to my questions. Mark had to work night shift last night so he did not get to be there, but I called him and told him. He was as happy as I was. Benjamin wants to go ahead and be baptized this weekend, but we are most likely going to wait because of Big News #2.
Big news #2: My niece is finally here! I do not have any pictures yet that I can post, but I promise to post some soon. Amanda went to the hospital about 4:00 am Wednesday morning, but they sent her home. She was not progressed enough. But she went again last night around 7:00. And little Miss Anna Claire Chambers was born at 4:00 am this morning. I have not been able to go see her yet. The boys have had a bit of a virus causing them to have snotty noses and sore throats, so I have to stay away until we are sure that none of us are contagious. I thought we were over it, but Benjamin has been sneezing again today and saying that he does not feel good. Anyhoo, she is here, she is healthy and her mommy and daddy are very happy.

ps- We have been doing some really cool things in homeschool.I promise to post something again soon.

Oh, big news #1 had me teary. I'm so happy for you guys! I know what a blessing it it when the kids 'get it' and getting to be there when they make the decision is a priceless gift.
Congrats on #2, as well.

Hi,

I grew up as a reluctant reader. Now I write action-adventures & mysteries, especially for tween boys, that girls and boys hate to put down. My web site is at http://www.maxbooks.9k.com and my Books for Boys blog is at http://booksandboys.blogspot.com

I also have a short story in a new book called Lay Ups and Long Shots, published by Darby Creek Publishing. It's a Junior Library Guild selection. I'm also featured in an article in the 2009 edition of Children's Writer Guide.

My other books are all ranked by Accelerated Reader

Rthling~ I did not not to be there when Nathaniel announced his decision. Mark was not there for Benjamin. Maybe we'll both get to be there for Samuel.

Valerie~Thanks. I will be sure to give both of them extra hugs first chance I get!!

Max~ Nice to meet you. I will definitely check out your website. I do have boys that love to read. Thanks for stopping by.

Praise the Lord!!

Hey...I just realized that you are celebrating TWO births! That is SO neat!

If it's not too private, would you mind sharing the questions that you asked him and his answers? If you don't feel comfortable with that, I understand.

Woooooo Hooooo!!!

I asked him why he thought he needed to be saved. I wanted to be sure that he was not responding to some ABC thing from church or something. I asked him what it means to be "saved", what God saves us from. I asked how we get saved. I asked if there is more than one way to be saved ie: can we be *good* enough to save ourselves? We talked about baptism and how even though we told in scripture to be baptized, it does not save us. We talked about how Jesus was our sacrifice. I think that might be all we talked about, but I am not sure.
